Iranian President Raisi welcomes rapprochement with France – political news

President Raisi had an hour-long telephone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Monday.

Iran welcomes the expansion of ties with France on the basis of common interests and mutual respect, noted Raisi, calling for the promotion of economic and trade interaction between the two states.

Denouncing the United States for the repeated and shameless violation of its commitments in the JCPOA and lamenting the failure of the European troika to honor the 2015 nuclear deal, President Raisi said: “The Americans have openly violated their commitments in imposing new sanctions (on Iran) and even extended the new sanctions in the area of ​​humanitarian articles.

The United States and the Europeans must honor their commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the president stressed, adding: “The rights of the Iranian nation must be restored in every negotiation and the interests of our nation must be respected.

Regarding the recent developments in the maritime areas south of Iran, President Raisi said: “The Islamic Republic is very serious in providing security and maintaining deterrence in the Persian Gulf region and the Arabian Sea, and counter the elements that disrupt security.

The Iranian president finally referred to the situation in Lebanon, stressed that Tehran will support any measure contributing to the stability and security of Lebanon and the improvement of the economic conditions of the Lebanese people, and noted that Iran welcomes its France’s cooperation in this regard.

For his part, Macron congratulated the Iranian president on taking office, saying Iran and France can work cooperatively to establish peace and stability in the region.

Emphasizing the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA and the suspension of the implementation of the nuclear deal, the French leader said his country is considering a solution and hopes that negotiations to relaunch the deal will resume.

On the issue of maritime security, Macron stressed the need to create a framework for stability and ensure that stability prevails in all areas, such as the seas.

Highlighting his country’s efforts to present a solution for stability in Lebanon, he expressed the hope that collaboration with Iran would pave the way for establishing stability and resolving problems in the Arab country.

Macron finally called for the continuation of the dialogue between Paris and Tehran with the aim of deepening bilateral relations.
