MARIGOT – The France Tourisme Ingénierie system aims to identify strategic projects for Saint-Martin and to provide it with specific support to facilitate their emergence or their implementation, whether in regulatory, financial, legal or technical terms. or mobilizers of actors.
While the Collectivity has already selected three projects for the year 2021, the CCISM Chamber of Commerce has submitted three projects on March 31 in accordance with the regulations of the call for projects.
The first project concerns the creation of a night market in Marigot, which will be held every Friday. This is a long-term ecologically sustainable land project, economically viable and equitable both ethically and socially for the population.
Its objectives are to allow the inhabitants of the territory to rediscover the products of the farms, the artisanal products and the businesses of the zone in a suitable time slot; implement and promote local products; revitalize crafts and commerce by animating the city center in partnership with associations of traders; and the organization of a traffic plan.
The second project concerns the development of the small market in the Quartier d’Orléans into a bus station, market, craft space and museum. The objectives are to structure the informal activities of the district and to create an area of tourist attraction.
The third project concerns the development of the Cul-de-Sac jetty to meet the expectations of fishermen by creating a technical space, welcoming local residents through the creation of a commercial and artisanal product, offering protection of the environment by creating a sewage treatment plant to treat Sargassum algae, welcome tourists and ferry captains by creating a ticket office and developing the area for trade and tourism.
These three projects concern three geographic sectors for the sustainable economic development of Saint-Martin. They involve associations and socio-professional federations having a direct interest in the realization of these projects and they include the resident and tourist population in their objectives.
Through them, the CCISM shows that it is capable of intervening in a very direct way in the field of economic and tourist development of the territory. It thus fully exercises its mission of supporting companies and their groups, and promoting all sectors of activity.
