Thierry Henry wants to sign Laurent Koscielny and Cesc Fabregas

French exit Point write that Monaco favor a central defender in their attempts to escape the Ligue 1 relegation zone. Laurent Koscielny would be the name that keeps coming up “with the most emphasis” in this regard.

Henry’s team have conceded 29 goals so far this season, with just three other clubs leaving more. Koscielny is still getting back into shape after a seven-month injury absence, but would likely be able to add something to a terrible Monegasque defense even now.

Meanwhile, Henry is also “particularly” interested in signing Cesc Fabregas to fill a midfield void created by the departures of Fabinho, Moutinho, Bakayoko and Bernardo Silva in recent seasons. Fabregas already knows Monaco’s sporting director Michael Emenalo, who brought him to Chelsea, and he only has six months of contract left.

Unlike Koscielny, who has a regular place in Arsenal’s squad even after so many months away, Fabregas is struggling to start with Chelsea. He only made one in the first half of the Premier League season, in a 2-1 loss to Wolves, although he still has eight starts in all competitions.

We’ll see if Henry progresses in his pursuit of the two Arsenal captains in the Winter Window.
